Ed

First Appearance: January 12, 1998 (SFU Peak). Reintroduction: March 2, 2008

Born in Marmot Valley, Alberta. Ed had always been a dreamer, an eternal optimist with nothing but the best intentions, despite his insecurity, ineptitude and naïvety. He has kept several small south American countries afloat with his coffee consumption. He almost always wears a red shirt (a subtle nod to the doomed ensign).

Rocco

First Appearance: February 2, 1998 (SFU Peak). Reintroduction: March 3, 2008

Rocco was involved in a rite that would grant him immortality. Unfortunately, something went dreadfully wrong and he was trapped in the body of a plush raccoon. After several failed attempts to take over the world, Rocco ended up as the toy companion to Ed.

Rocco fills the role of father figure to both Ed and Kanna. He recently  financed a rebellion in corrupt Guaranastan, becoming the  leader of Rocconia in the process. His first taste of megalomanical success…

Kanna

First Appearance: September 20, 1999 (SFU Peak). Reintroduction: March 6, 2008

Kanna is the runaway heir to the fairy throne. She is unpredictable and quick to fly into a rage at the slightest provocation. Like most Fey she has no respect for the mortal condition. Unlike her fairy brethren she doesn’t toy with the hearts of men, to the point of reacting with violence to anything even remotely objectifying. Kanna is an accomplished sorceress, but is also very active and prefers a physical solution to a magical one. Kanna dresses “modestly” for a fey.

Pillar of society and all around great guy. Met Ed in University and has a Inspector Cleauseau / Cato relationship with him. Currently dating Hank’s sister.

8ball

First Appearance: February 9, 1998 (SFU Peak). Reintroduction: May 18, 2008

Mystic eightball, purchased from Madam Sophia by Betty for Sam. Now Rocco’s best friend and card partner. Doesn’t like Rat.

Rat

First Appearance: October 4, 1999 (SFU Peak). Reintroduction: May 5, 2008

Alcoholic rat that Ed saved from Puppies. Likes to drink, get into trouble, and play practical jokes on 8ball.

D’arno

First Appearance:November 15, 2008

A pixie, originally Queen Mab’s spy, sent to keep tabs on Kanna. Now hangs out with Rat, 8ball and Rocco. Loves human junk-food.

Shelob

First Appearance: November 1, 1999 (SFU Peak). Reintroduction: March 28, 2008

Genetically modified spider-plant created by Ed as an experiment. Now the apartment pet. Likes to eat people and fairies.

Ud Iceman

First Appearance: November 2, 1998 (SFU Peak). Reintroduction: October 15, 2008

Neanderthal released from the Ice by Ed and Kanna. Has a shocking resemblance to Ed. Within one week Ud went from savage caveman to junior executive at Raincity Media.

Jitterbugs

Buck

First Appearance: March 9, 2008

Real name Starbuck. The Counter-person at Jitterbugs. Madly in love with Betty but way too shy to do anything about it.

Angel

First Appearance: March 9, 2008

Angel is the Barista at Jitterbugs. A no nonsense girl who’s not afraid to speak her mind. Buck’s best friend.

Puppies

Georgia

First Appearance: April 13, 2008

Real name: George Micheal. A server at Puppies. Ed’s Love interest, though she has an on-again/off-again relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Vince. A sweetheart of a girl, but bad news for Ed.

Sarah

First Appearance: April 13, 2008

A server at puppies, and a very proud tramp. Ed’s best (human) friend. She’s very protective and supportive of Ed, and looks on her actions as a sort of karmic balancing to offset the hedonistic life she’s lead. She’s the only one of the puppies girls who knows Kanna is Ed’s roommate.

Bree

First Appearance: April 13, 2008

Puppies’ resident blond. She may not be the brightest, but she’s a sweetheart with a great singing voice. Tends to tell the same joke over and over.

Candi

Candi is the assistant manager at Puppies. She performs in a burlesque comedy show on her down time. Pals with Sonya.

Sonya

Sonya is the snarky, sarcastic member of the Puppies crew. She’s a Pro-Am roller-derby girl. Candi’s best friend.

Amy

Amy works at puppies to help pay for her personal training course. She is also Kanna’s running partner.

Henry

The cook. Henry hates his job, and is more often than not the victim of accidents that he doesn’t cause.

Gabby

The puppies’ dishwasher. Completely nuts.

Sam

Betty’s twin sister and unlike Betty in most ways. Sam is a practicing witch and is the leader of her local wiccan woman’s group. She and Hank are friends “with benefits”.

Queen Mab

Kanna’s mother, and everything she is not. A sensual goddess who looks at mortals as fun playings.

Melissa

First Appearance:December 28, 2008

Hank’s younger sister. Very perceptive with a slight sinister streak. Currently engaged to Steve the Ninja.

Rocco’s Family

The family that Rocco abandoned to pursue world domination. He calls his daughter (Lisa) every father’s day much to the distaste of his wife (Monique).

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Despite the fact they live in Marmot Valley they never seem to be IN Marmot Valley.

Hank’s Family

Hank comes from a big Jewish family. He has three siblings (Melissa and a much younger brother and sister), an orthodox grandfather and a crazy auntie. It’s no wonder he moved out.

Cupcake

Cupcake is the pet of Kanna’s little sister. A fire-breathing dragon, who acts like an overactive puppy.
