I wish there was a way to become a voice actor without having to be an actual actor first. I think voice acting would be a lot of fun and I’ve been told that I have a great voice, but whenever I try to ask other voice actors how they got their start I get the same damn comments.
“You have to be a legitimate actor first.”
Um… what? So what you are basically telling me is that you don’t consider voice acting to be legitimate acting? Then why the heck are you doing it?
I’d rather one of my favorite cartoonists takes a break than not come back at all. (Like Gary Larson, Berkley Breathed, and Bill Watterson) Real world concerns, like money, can take precedent over a labor of love. Thank you, Ed, for sharing Ed and friends with the rest of us. I look forward to your return in September.
Something to keep in mind: Next time someone calls you crazy for your everyday stint, remind them that Charles Schulz did a comic a day for 50 years.
